The President Welcomes Families of Injured Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has invited the loved ones of a Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the White House.

He mentioned that he contacted her parents and they were “devastated”.

Information on the Devastating Incident

Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their memory.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a White House visit for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president told journalists. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Community Response

Attendees gathered over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the military unit as part of the president’s government program to aid public safety in Washington DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that instructors hoped for. She behaved with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” the principal, the principal of her previous school, informed the press. “She was sweet, caring and always ready to support those in need.”

Service details for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event led the administration to halt refugee claims and halt issuing entry permits to holders of passports from Afghanistan.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, according to the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told a news show that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with distinction, per the military.

“She had a lot of kindness and she definitely had courage,” Morrisey told the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
