FC Barcelona to Host First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
